It all depends on your wants! I am experienced with a Club 420, Sunfish, Optimist, and Laser sailboat. I am looking to expanding my fleet experience.

Please make sure you have the following:

• life jacket (it will not be provided)

• Sunscreen

• Closed toe shoes (you may not participate without them)

• A water bottle

• towel / extra set of clothes

Additional items you might want:

• Sailing gloves

• sun glasses/ hat

• helmet (may be required for new youth sailors)

• Post class snack

Yes, cancellations are allowed. For a full refund, cancellations must be placed 48 hours in advanced. If your cancellation is not made prior to this time, a full refund will not be offered.

Please note that Rachel holds the right to cancel a class at anytime in the event of severe weather. These cancellations will include a full refund. Please see below for more information pertaining to bad weather.

Classes may be cancelled altogether and rescheduled for another date. You also have the option to still bring your child to do an on land (if necessary, sheltered) enrichment activity that is related to sailing. The enrichment class will be set at half price.

Yes, you may stay and watch class from the shore. If you plan on coming by motorboat, please leave plenty of room between your vessel and the class sailboats.

In short, yes! This is encouraged so that you can become comfortable on your own boat! If the boat is not one that I am familiar with we will work together to have a blast on the water.

If there are enough sailboats available and based on the level of sailing then siblings are able to participate in a group class.

Day one will look a little different for all clients based on their prior knowledge of sailing!

Introductions: I will answer any questions you have and we will get to know one another as we work together to rig up a boat.

Swim Check: All students will be required to complete a swim test prior to working with me for the first time. The assessment will be completed with a life jacket.

Finally, you will get to go sailing! Yes, on day one it it my absolute goal to get you on the water on a sailboat! If you’ve never sailed before we will go out together on one boat. If you have prior sailing knowledge, it is likely you will have the opportunity to sail with me on separate boats.

Classes will range from 2-3 hours depending on the age and wants of clients. The prices for the 2023 season are still pending.
